Here a brief on me:
I am born in 1945, graduated in law, University of Oslo, Norway, in 1970. I worked with the Ministry of Fisheries for two years on EU-questions and questions related to the law of the seas, 2 years as a deputy judge, and thereafter as an associate with the Norwegian law firm Messrs. Wikborg, Rein & Co, including 3 years heading its office on Kobe, Japan.
I joined the GIEK (the governmental agency for export credits – ECA) in 1980 heading the administrative, international relations including country risk and legal departments, for some years also heading the department underwriting private sector. I have over the years worked in most fields within GIEK, and was its dep.man.director from 1987-2005. I have been representing GIEK internationally and participated in the work of the Berne Union and its technical sub committee for MLT for many years, and also been vice-chair to the Bern Union short term committee.
I have been member of several boards in connection with winding ups and bankruptcies. In addition to my position at GIEK, I had the responsibility from 1983-2005 for a guarantee-institute (GI) separate from the GIEK and related to shipping only, and has been in charge of a governmental scheme for governmental War Risk Cargo Transportation Insurance (SVF) from 1994-2004, when it was winded up.
Outside work I have spent some years as chair for young fotball players (soccer), in the local Club called Lyn, and have had different other positions within the club, herunder representing it on the Board on the National Fotball Stadium: Ullevaal Stadion, for some five years.
I have written and issued 4 booklets related to my professional work on credit insurance and for some ten years I had my own column in the quartly magazine issued by the fotball club. In december 2015 my book about “Søndre Taasen Hovedgaard” was launched. This is local history about house and farmland that for several generations belonged to my family on my mothers side.
Today I devote my time to family history, exercise to keep fit, and I enjoy memberships of several different societies in respect of local history.
